Pepperidge Farm - Mostly Safe

  • No PF products contain peanuts.
  • Some PF products contain tree nuts:  some cookies and layer cakes!
  • PF cookies and cakes may be made on shared equipment, but they do an allergy wash.  They cannot tell you which items share lines with nut-containing products on call-in.  They will forward questions to the research department. 24-48hrs.
  • If a PF product has any risk of cross-contamination, that risk is boldly stated as a "may contain statement on the label."  This would happen when PF feels their allergy wash is insufficient.
  • If a PF product actually contains tree nuts, the tree nut is included in the ingredient list but NOT HIGHLIGHTED.
  • Conclusion:  if you rely on their "allergy wash" then you can rely on their labeling.
