- No PF products contain peanuts.
- Some PF products contain tree nuts: some cookies and layer cakes!
- PF cookies and cakes may be made on shared equipment, but they do an allergy wash. They cannot tell you which items share lines with nut-containing products on call-in. They will forward questions to the research department. 24-48hrs.
- If a PF product has any risk of cross-contamination, that risk is boldly stated as a "may contain statement on the label." This would happen when PF feels their allergy wash is insufficient.
- If a PF product actually contains tree nuts, the tree nut is included in the ingredient list but NOT HIGHLIGHTED.
- Conclusion: if you rely on their "allergy wash" then you can rely on their labeling.
my own tips to get through life, and a catalogue of manufacturer responses to the question, "are your products safe for someone who needs to avoid cross-contamination by peanut and tree nut dust?"
